Description

The Original Prusa XL+ is a CoreXY 3D printer with an active toolchanger and a huge 360 × 360 × 360 mm build volume (46.7 L). It can print up to 5 materials in a single job with no cross-contamination and minimal purge waste. Each toolhead has its own extruder, hotend, nozzle and filament, and parked toolheads stay preheated for instant changes. You can start with 1 toolhead and expand to 2 or 5 at any time, because the frame is already prepared.
A unique segmented bed with 16 individually controlled zones heats only the active area. This eliminates warping and saves energy.

Key features

  • Active toolchanger: up to 5 toolheads, one job, up to 5 materials
  • Huge volume: 360 × 360 × 360 mm (46.7 L)
  • 16-zone segmented bed: heats only the active area and prevents warping
  • Expandable: start with 1 toolhead and expand to 2 or 5 later
  • Mixed materials and nozzles: rigid, flexible and soluble support materials, with nozzles from 0.25 to 0.8 mm
  • Optional enclosure: up to 50 °C, or 60 °C with an external heater
  • Open filament policy: any 1.75 mm brand, no chips or subscriptions

Choose your configuration

  • 1 toolhead: large parts in a single material
  • 2 toolheads: soluble supports or two materials, the engineering sweet spot
  • 5 toolheads: multi-material and multicolor production
  • With an enclosure: a stable environment for engineering materials without warping
  • Without an enclosure: open frame

Typical uses

  • Multi-material and multicolor production parts
  • Engineering parts with soluble supports
  • Large parts in a single material with the 1 toolhead version
  • Parts that combine rigid and flexible materials

Frequently asked questions

How many toolheads can the XL+ have?

You can choose 1, 2 or 5 toolheads. You can start with 1 and expand to 2 or 5 at any time, because the frame is already prepared.

Do I need to buy the enclosed version?

No, it is available with or without an enclosure. The enclosure provides a stable environment of up to 50 °C, or 60 °C with an external heater, for engineering materials without warping. The open frame version has no enclosure.

Can I use filament from any manufacturer?

Yes. The printer uses open 1.75 mm filament from any brand, with no chips or subscriptions.

Which materials does it support?

The listed materials are PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS, PC, PA, TPU, PVA, HIPS, PP, CPE, PVB and carbon fiber composites. The maximum nozzle temperature is 290 °C and the bed reaches 120 °C.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. It connects through Ethernet or optional Wi-Fi and can work fully offline.
