Description

The SmartLab package brings 3D printing, 3D scanning, robotics and programming into one ready made lab for schools. Students can scan an object, edit it, print it, program a robot arm and interact with a social robot, all with equipment chosen to work together.

Prusa MK4 3D printer

Made by Prusa Research in the Czech Republic, the MK4 combines the reliability of its predecessors with high speed printing through Input Shaper support. A Loadcell sensor gives a smooth first layer with no manual adjustments, and the Nextruder with a 32-bit connected platform adds remote printing, quick change nozzles and a one-click print option.

Prusa MK4 MMU3

The MMU3 lets a single extruder printer print with up to 5 colors or materials. Load up to five filaments, slice the model in PrusaSlicer and the system selects, loads and changes filament automatically.

Shining 3D SP scanner

This scanner captures small objects in high resolution and exports STL files that can go straight to the 3D printer. It offers 0.05 mm single image precision, a 200 x 150 mm scan area, white LED light, texture scanning and OBJ, STL, ASC and PLY output. A 360 degree scan takes about 1 minute with the EinScan-SP.

Fable Explore robotic arm

A modular robotic arm built on two servo motors. Magnetic joint modules let students design and program many models, and attachments allow 3D printed parts and LEGO bricks to be added.

Pepper social robot with custom software

Pepper welcomes visitors and helps students learn interactively. The software is customized to order and can include a presentation mode, optional ChatGPT integration with content filters, a local question and answer database, a satisfaction questionnaire on the tablet and an entertainment mode.

Arduino kit and 3D pencil

The Arduino kit with boards, sensors and wires supports classroom projects and encourages students to create their own. The 3D pencil is a simple way to introduce 3D printing, even in primary school.
