Description

The Snapmaker U1 is an FDM 3D printer with four independent toolheads that swap automatically during the print. Each color or material has its own toolhead and nozzle, so the U1 prints in up to four colors without purging filament between them and without the purge tower of single-nozzle systems.

Key features

  • Toolhead swap in about 5 seconds (SnapSwap): the next toolhead is preheated before the swap, and kinematic steel-ball couplings with a mechanical lock position it precisely every time
  • Far less wasted filament: the manufacturer quotes up to 85% less waste than single-nozzle multicolor printers
  • Different materials in one part: for example PLA with soluble PVA support, or a rigid part with flexible TPU areas
  • Fully automatic calibration: bed leveling, input shaping, flow compensation and alignment of the four toolheads (0.04 mm accuracy) run on their own
  • Safety and monitoring: more than 12 sensors and checks watch the print, AI spaghetti detection stops the job in time, and the print resumes where it stopped after a power cut

Which materials does it support?
