Description

The Top Cover is the official cover that turns the Snapmaker U1 into an enclosed 3D printer. With it the U1 prints, besides PLA, PETG and TPU, engineering materials that need steady heat: ABS, ASA, PA, PC and PET. The three-stage filter captures particles and fumes, and the magnetic front door lets you reach the chamber without removing the cover.

Key features

  • Enclosed chamber, passively heated to about 50 °C. The heat comes from the heated bed, with no separate heater. This reduces warping on ABS, ASA and PC parts.
  • Filament-adaptive thermal management. Snapmaker Orca picks the mode from the material in the file. Internal circulation keeps heat in for ABS, ASA, PC, PA and PETG, and external circulation exhausts heat for PLA, TPU and PVA.
  • Three-stage filtration. A G3 pre-filter, coconut-shell activated carbon and an H12 HEPA filter handle PM2.5 particles and volatile organic compounds.
  • Quiet. Under 50 dB at one metre in internal circulation mode.
  • Magnetic front door and a seal kit for the printer's glass door.

Good to know

The cover needs U1 firmware 1.5.2 or later and Snapmaker Orca 2.3.5 or later. After fitting, vibration compensation is run again. High-temperature and heat-sensitive materials are not printed in the same job, except PETG, which also works with PLA or TPU.
